What is Mesothelioma?
Mesothelioma develops in the mesothelium, the thin protective lining covering most internal organs. It is caused exclusively by asbestos exposure, typically occurring 20-50 years after initial contact with asbestos fibers.
Approximately 3,000 Americans are diagnosed with mesothelioma each year. While it remains a serious diagnosis, advances in treatment have improved outcomes for many patients.
